March 2009
If you haven’t done so already, here’s your last chance to participate in our annual “Home from the Heart” survey. The 2009 Home from the Heart Survey tally will close by the end of the week and we’ll begin compiling the results and for release of this year’s “Home from the Heart”.
Spring is right around the corner! Time to select your new house plans and get started. Now is really a good time to build a home. Quality contractors are more available, and good prices offered on finishes and fixtures. A good start is of course a quality set of construction plans and we’re here to help whether it’s custom design, pre-designed home plans, or plan modification services.
This month the featured plans include the Strathmore a comfortable and welcoming Bungalow style ranch house with an open floor plan. The Belle Vista is a luxurious estate-sized Mediterranean style design. You’ll find contemporary living within the walls of the Windsor’s Craftsman ranch style facade. Hexagon house designs allow you to take in all your view has to offer and the McKinley is one of many that we have available on our site. There’s a hexagon style plan to suite about every exterior flavor and style. To view our current hexagon style designs click here.

February 2009
It’s time for you to participate in our annual “Home from the Heart” survey. If you’ve ever considered designing the home that’s in your heart, here’s your chance. The 2009 Home from the Heart Survey makes it fun and easy.
You and other readers are the true experts when it comes to what contemporary families really want. Some like a formal dining or living room, while others would fill that space with a home office and exercise room. For others, a great room open to the kitchen is the only gathering space they need. With ecological awareness on the rise, many more families are considering “green building” techniques and projects. But what do most people actually want?
Once we have compiled the responses, we will design a home based on the preferences that emerge. That home will be ready for publication in approximately three months. Last year resulted in the Heartington 10-550, a stately ranch style home.

Our site has been updated to reflect the most popular plans for 2008. This is another way to watch the trends. We have consistent favorites such as the Arden, Palermo, Carrington, and the Tillamook. We’ve also seen a few come back such as the Winchester and the Kingsley. Of course, new designs have emerged. Plans such as the Stratford, Brightwood, and the Saddlebrook. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The first few weeks of January have shown a substantial increase in calls, visits to our website and plan orders. It seems that folks are feeling the sense of relief and optimism that the New Year can bring.
Our focus at Associated Designs is to provide customer service that exceeds your expectations. During office hours you can count having your call answered by a friendly voice who will help you with your questions or connect you with the person can. If an occasional call makes it to our voicemail system, your call is returned promptly. We strive to process orders by the next business day, and provide tracking information on all construction drawing orders.
In 2009 we plan to continue making improvements to our website and home plan blog. We are working to create incentive and buyers programs, a builder directory, and the continued “Greening” of our home designs and business practice.
This month’s featured plans are a good example of the variety to be found on our website. The Prichard is old-fashioned simplicity of a ranch style house plan perfect for a starter home or for empty nesters. The Viewcrest is designed for a sloped lot with plenty of elbow space and the Cascade would make a comfortable vacation retreat; both designs are well suited to take in a view. The Fairfield is a classic Craftsman style bungalow design with a detached garage.
